DANCE into May is a cooperative format organized by the go plastic company, in which the public can take different routes through Hellerau – led by a city and dance guide to discover various dance styles in very different places in the garden city of Dresden.

In the past, DANCE into May has already focused on the Ruscheweg park, the Waldschänke Hellerau community center and the Festspielhaus Hellerau. Future editions of DANCE into May will also explore other locations in Hellerau.

DANCE into May always concludes on the forecourt of the Festspielhaus. The location then becomes a floor on which performers and participants dance a round dance together based on a simple choreography. The day ends in the adjacent Kulturgarten of the Festspielhaus.

DANCE into May opens up professional dance to a wider audience, gives clubs and dance groups a stage, invites the city’s society to participate and shows how diverse Dresden’s dance scene and its dancers are.

Encounters, dialog, participation and togetherness are created in a relaxed atmosphere. All connected in and with a shared experience in the Hellerau district.
